Adam Sandler has serious Oscar buzz for his new film “Uncut Gems” but you might be surprised to learn that he was fired from his breakthrough job on Saturday Night Live. The actor recalls that SNL executive Lorne Michaels didn’t like Sandler or Chris Farley and let them go. He explains, “At the time, I was hurt because I didn’t know what else I was going to do.” He continued, “At the time, it wasn’t Lorne decision. The NBC head dude, I know he didn’t like our gang.”
He recalls when he found out Chris Farley was also let go from the comedy show, “We were both like, ‘F–k this s–t.’ We both got mad together and pretended we weren’t sad and pretended this was for the best.” Turns out it probably was for the best. Check out more of Sandler’s interview below.
