Anne Hathaway, the actress we all know and love for her roles in “Ella Enchanted”, “The Devil Wears Prada”, “The Princess Diaries”, and more revealed on “The Tonight Show” this week that she’d really like people to stop calling her Anne.
The star has informed fans that her preferred name is actually not Anne but Annie. ” Everybody, call me Annie, please,” she begged.
Hathaway explained, “When I was 14-years-old, I did a commercial and I had to get my SAG card. They asked me what my name to be…and so [Anne] seemed like the right choice, but it never occurred to me that for the rest of my life, everyone would call me Anne.”
Turns out when fans or paparazzi yell out “Anne” on the red carpet, it reminds the actress of her mother yelling at her. Watch the clip below.
