Cardi B made her big screen debut in J. Lo’s film “Hustlers” but the rapper is moving on to starring in her own film.
The Bronx-born 28-year-old (born Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar) retweeted a post that read “WAP = working at Paramount”, a play on her hit song.
Cardi has signed on to star as small-time crook forced to go undercover in Paramount Pictures’ comedy “Assisted Living.” The film arks Cardi’s first leading role in a major motion picture promising to be in the same vein as “Tootsie”, “Mrs. Doubtfire”, and “Sister Act.”
Cardi said, “Work & life is about to become 10x harder but I’m overwhelmed with happiness.” Cardi was an aspiring rapper featured on the reality TV show “Love & Hip Hop” just a few years ago. Fans fell in love with her personality and she took advantage of that with social media. She went on to break records and make history winning a GRAMMY for her debut album “Invasion of Privacy.”
Cardi commented this week, “When you have opportunities in your hands TAKE THEM ALL!”
