Matt Lauer, the disgraced former “Today” host was spotted with a fresh new tattoo. Trying to stay low key in a baseball cap and sunglasses, Lauer dropped of his son in Noyack, New York, but revealed a new forearm tattoo that reads, “Hatred corrodes the container it is carried in.”
The quote was originally said by Sen. Alan Simpson in his eulogy for President George H.W. Bush in December 2018.
Lauer was accused of raping one of his producers but has denied the allegations. He did recently say in a Mediate op-ed: “I am sorry for the way I conducted myself. I made some terrible decisions, and I betrayed the trust of many people … On October 9, 2019, I was falsely accused of rape.” He went on to criticize Ronan Farrow’s book, “I am not suggesting that everything Ronan has written in his book is untrue or based on misinformation, but it is clear that over the course of nearly two years he became a magnet and a willing ear for anyone with negative stories about the network and people who worked for it.”
